What is HyperV?

Hyper-V is the hypervisor that is designed by Microsoft to be moved to the Windows Server platform. It is a server virtualization tool with a complete virtualization concept and type 1 hypervisor.

HyperV's operating architecture is a bit special. Officially, HyperV is a complete virtualization system with a Type 1 hypercontroller, but trusting the primary share makes it look like an emulator.

Install Windows Server as a role;
Installation of a special edition of Windows Server 2012 HyperV.

Basic diapers

When you first install Windows Server 2012 on the physical server, the host operating system layer replaces the hypervisor. This is the only layer facing the sources. After you set the HyperV role, the HyperV hypervisor switches between the host operating system and hardware. HyperV as a Windows Server role

HyperV as product

The second preferred option is to consider HyperV as a full-fledged Microsoft product - says Standalone. The DVD is the full version of the Microsoft Windows Server 2012 HyperV server.

This is a minimal installation with roles and prerequisites already deployed in Core mode. However, you can also set up your own installation in Core mode and then configure HyperV.
In this configuration, the server is optimized, secure and easy to maintain. Windows Server consumes fewer resources and leaves more space for virtual machines.

The server will be managed by the Powershell command or by using graphical management tools for the Windows 7, Windows 8 client.
